An air handling unit is a technical element dedicated to heating, cooling, humidifying or dehumidifying commercial or industrial premises. It is an all-air system with constant or variable airflow.
An AHU is either a monoblock unit, or is made up of modules added together, depending on the configuration, ventilation modules, cold and hot coil modules, filter modules, etc..
There are two types of air handling unit:
- Single-flow AHU: either all fresh air, all return air, or a mixture of the two
- Double-flow AHU: allows all possible combinations of return air, fresh air, return air and treated air, depending on the configuration.
